Who is this course designed for?


The ZORA Dawn Star women’s sailing journey has been inspired by the book SANDTALK by Tyson Yunkaporta and the ZORA guest speakers for 2026 will be assembled relative to the inspiration received from the book and the provocative and big picture questions that are raised therein. 
As Yunkaporta considers how contemporary life diverges from the pattern of creation, important questions are raised. 
How does this affect us? How can we do things differently?
For us at MANA, it’s about how we learn and how we remember. It’s about talking to everyone and listening carefully. It’s about finding different ways to look at things. Most of all it’s about a very special way of thinking, of learning to see from a native perspective, one that is spiritually and physically tied to the earth around us, and how it can assist our world return to harmony .

Our guest speakers will lead us in inspired and heart-led presentations and discussions, calling on interaction from the women who are saying YES to this incredibly rich experience. This is modern-day Uni-Verse-ity. A floating classroom. Where lectures are delivered in caves, in the water, on the rocks, in the forest. Inspired and outside-the-box, invaluable educational experiences that aim to birth new ideas that we can share with our community and collective to, indeed, bring us back to the Natural Order of things.

Chrissie Charley

Director of Phoenix Humanity School

Brittany Laidlaw

Brittany Jane Laidlaw is a Somatic Ecologist, Dancer and Eco-Philosopher with over 11 years of experience leading embodied, nature-connection programs in the wild. She is a PhD Candidate in eco-somatics and her research explores ways of relating to and restoring living ecologies through the somatic body. Brittany also holds a Masters of Environment in Somatic Ecology, and today offers a range of programs that guide people through The EARTHED Framework, an experiential map for conversing with the body, soul, and nature, based on her research.
